Reena Thapa NIMJN Human Trafficking Reporting Fellow
Reena Thapa is one of the recipients of the NIMJN Human Trafficking Reporting Fellowship from Gandaki province. This fellowship was open to the training participants of the NIMJNā€™s Reporting on Human Trafficking and Human Rights using Multimedia Tools training held in Pokhara for the journalists in Gandaki province, supported by Australian Aid. Reena was selected based on her story idea and pitch related to human trafficking issues in Gandaki province. Reena began her journalism career four years ago, with a special interest in highlighting social issues, especially those impacting women. In her past role as a Media Action Nepal fellow, she actively covered issues regarding the participation of the LGBTQI+ community and women in national politics. Recently, she was also the recipient of the Uma Singh Journalism Award 2078 by Sancharika Samuha and is now pursuing a bachelor's degree in Journalism at Tribhuvan University.
