This Journathon is open to professionals from various fields, including journalists, media professionals, content creators, social media experts, developers, computer experts, and people from business and other stakeholders, to address the ongoing challenges in Nepali media.
NIMJN is organizing KTM Journathon 2025: Media Sustainability in the Age of AI in the last week of August 2025. The event will be held on August 24 (virtually) and August 30–31, 2025 (in-person). Participants will be divided into groups or teams and work together to develop innovative ideas and solutions to the ongoing challenges that the media are facing in Nepal.

The Nepal Investigative Multimedia Journalism Network (NIMJN) is a non-profit media organization dedicated to enhancing the standards of investigative multimedia journalism in Nepal through advanced training, mentorship, and the publication of stories. It promotes collaboration among reporters to produce investigative stories related to social justice and accountability issues using the latest tools and techniques. NIMJN has been organizing KTM Journathon since 2020.

August 30 and 31, 2025 | Bhadra 14-15, 2082 | Saturday & Sunday : In-person session (Residential)
Venue: Kathmandu (Location will be shared with selected participants.)
Note: This event will take place in a hybrid model (1 day online, 1.5 days in-person).
Expected final submission for the Journathon:
On the last day of this Journathon, each team will need to submit the following:
1. A prototype/solution
2. Presentation that will include the prototype's main features to address the sustainability challenges
